Three Montana housing developers have been granted $2.4 million in federal funding to support the rehabilitation and preservation of more than 130 affordable rental homes.

The Montana Department of Commerce website states the Human Resource Development Council Bozeman, Human Resource Development Council Havre and Affiliated Developers Havre will receive Housing Trust Fund grants in the amounts of $1 million, $900,000 and $500,000, respectively. The funding will rehabilitate and preserve the Boulevard Apartments, Highland Manor Apartments and Oakwood Village Apartment.

“By supporting the development of affordable homes, we can provide a safe place for Montanans to live and strengthen their communities with added stability and resiliency to economic challenges,” Commerce Community Development Division Administrator Jennifer Olson said in the post on Commerce’s website. “The Housing Trust Fund Program allows Commerce to support existing federal, state and local efforts to preserve or build new affordable homes for Montana families and individuals.”
